The Bahamas Chess Federation (B.C.F.) is a non-profitable
organization whose mandate is as follows:
a. Govern, encourage and sponsor
amateur chess players throughout the Commonwealth of The
Bahamas; and to sponsor professional tournaments in accordance
with the laws of the Federation International Des Echecs (F.I.D.E)
whenever the occasion arises;
b. Promote, in every conceivable way,
chess play in the Bahamas;
c. Maintain affiliation to and
recognition by all national and international governing chess
bodies as the official federation in the Bahamas for chess;
d.Represent the Commonwealth of the Bahamas throughout the
world in all matters pertaining to chess.
The B.C.F. organizes National Championships (Bahamas
National Chess Championship, Bahamas Junior Championship,
Individual Scholastic Chess Championship and Scholastic Team
Championship).
